Not really. But our construction workers are working hard on
the excavation of the existing foundation at the moment. And well, that means
there is a good chance that one of the guys will find something. Especially since they already removed 400 tons of debris. Bits and pieces of ceramic tiles
and an old clay pot are a few of the findings. But also beautiful
green cantera stone, typical for Oaxaca and rare (thus: expensive) now. These stones are going to be reused
for the new foundation and most likely also for the construction of our
entrance stairs.
This Monday we will start with the new foundation. We'll keep
you posted when real authentic Zapotec artifacts come up! (Which will hopefully
not be the case, as this would delay our construction process for several
months since the INAH, the archeological institute of Mexico, will then come
in for research).
