Is our terrain an archaeological site?

Not really. But our construction workers are working hard on the excavation of the existing foundation at the moment. And well, that means there is a good chance that one of the guys will find something. Especially since they already removed 400 tons of debris. Bits and pieces of ceramic tiles and an old clay pot  are a few of the findings. But also beautiful green cantera stone, typical for Oaxaca and rare (thus: expensive) now. These stones are going to be reused for the new foundation and most likely also for the construction of our entrance stairs.

This Monday we will start with the new foundation. We'll keep you posted when real authentic Zapotec artifacts come up! (Which will hopefully not be the case, as this would delay our construction process for several months since the INAH, the archeological institute of Mexico, will then come in for research).
