It’s time to present this awesome team to you – the guys that are building our hotel.
We have a team of 15 construction workers on site. They work
six days a week from 8 am to 6 pm, no matter the weather circumstances. It
might be freaking hot, it might be pouring down with rain, but they keep going.
Besides from working hard, our construction team is the most friendly, helpful
and polite bunch we could wish!
Communities
These guys come from (sometimes remote) communities in the state of Oaxaca, and even Chiapas. They are contracted for the length of the construction project by our architect/general contractor RootStudio. Often they are from the same village, and might even be family (find members of the same family in this photo!). Since they don’t live in the city of Oaxaca, they rent a cheap room or stay with familiares or acquaintances for the length of the project. After, they return to their village or take on a new project.

Our team is very loyal and dedicated. This surely has to do with the fact that RootStudio is a good employer that treats and pays
them well. We are
happy to be working
with a contractor who has an eye for the working circumstances of the people they hire. And to be working with this great team!
