Do we want single or married staff?

We are working on our staffing plan. During our research we had some interesting talks in which funny cultural differences appeared. Let us share a couple.
·        In the streets we see many notes from companies hiring  and asking for a person  ‘con buena presentación’, a person with ‘good presentation’. In our home country this would mean that the person in question would dress appropriate for the job and has the right social skills. That’s about it. A friend here told us it has a much wider meaning. This person should be attractive, not be disabled, not be overweight and not be old.

·        Somebody told us we had to start making job profiles for the different vacancies available. Of course, we thought, we will write down what kind of skills and experience the employee should have and we start interviewing. But  again it is quite different. We are supposed to indicate the area where people should come from, our preferred gender, age range and last but not least, if our future staff is married or single. Why would that be? Well, because people who are single….( finish the sentence):
a) have more time to spend on their job.
b) have little responsibilities in life, so most likely also show little responsibility in their job.
Regardless of all requirements asked, we aim for a great team, like the team in Granada!
Lovely team in Granada, Nicaragua
(By the way the answer is B)
